The reporting season
14 Jul 2015
Time to catch one's breath….that’s the feeling anyone involved in corporate reporting gets once the annual cycle finishes. It’s a hectic period, but in the aftermath it’s always a good idea to take stock a little bit to see where you have come from over the past year to where you are today, recognising the achievements made but also where future improvements might be.
Here at Derwent London we are no different. We put a lot of time and effort into ensuring we produce the best reporting possible each year, which not only satisfies our stakeholder’s needs but also engages people and lets them understand our business better. However, sometimes it’s difficult to see the wood for the trees in terms of your journey and how far you have come, and every now and again a fresh set of eyes and a different perspective can be invaluable.
So to help us in gaining a fresh perspective on our sustainability journey so far the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) offered their take – suggesting where we had succeeded and where we could improve. Their appraisal can be found at:
This appraisal has been hugely beneficial, giving us insight to future new areas of work and affirming the right choices we have made to date. I look forward to letting you know how we are getting on after the next reporting cycle and how our journey is progressing.
