The progress to date is clear, and the next phase, including updated actions for 2026 and beyond, will build on this foundation.
Highlights so far:
- 20% reduction in energy consumption from a 2019 baseline
- 17% lower energy intensity from a 2019 baseline
- 40% of managed portfolio buildings now all-electric
- Embodied-carbon targets achieved for 2025 developments
- Lochfauld solar park nearing energisation in H1 2026
Here’s what the next five years hold:
- We will continue to drive down energy consumption through energy efficiency measures, occupier engagement and de-gassing our portfolio where feasible. Our energy intensity target is now aligned with CRREM-UK 1.5° C pathway for 2030.
- Our embodied carbon targets remain the same and we will report demolition separately in line with updated industry guidance. Through our Accelerating Concrete-Decarbonisation Group (AC-DG), we are proactively working with the supply chain to drive down concrete carbon and enhance knowledge sharing across the industry.
- Lochfauld is due for energisation next year and will generate c.40% of our managed portfolio electricity once operational.
- Recognising the link between climate change and ecological challenges, we have introduced nature and resilience as a core pillar to our Pathway.
As part of our commitment to transparency, we will continue to report progress annually in our annual Report and Accounts.
Paul Williams, Chief Executive of Derwent London, said:
“We have made strong progress since we first published our Pathway and are committed to delivering our 2030 targets. Sustainability is central to our business activity and collaboration with our occupiers, suppliers and the wider industry will support momentum as we move into the next phase of implementation.”
